SCJP 5.0 Exam preparation

I'm planning on taking the exam soon, and I have a few questions for those that have been down this road already. First, on top of the myriad mock exams available online for free, should I consider the practice exams Sun sells? And second, when do I find out how I did on the exam? Will the testing center be able to tell me immediately, or do I have to wait for results from the testing center or Sun?

The testing center will tell you immediatly after you take the test. I personally wouldn't buy the practice exams from Sun, you can buy 3rd party ones with many more questions and better explanations. But you'll get a free retake if you fail it anyway if you take it in the next 2

Thanks cook. :)

To add some context, I'm taking the exam this Friday. The extent of my Java coding was during college (which culminated in work on a Lisp compiler that compiled Lisp into bytecode and loaded it into the VM). Needless to say, in the three years that have passed since I've graduated, Java has changed dramatically. While most of the changes aren't new ideas, I'm trying to get caught up and ready for this exam in a period of about 2.5 weeks. The main problem on the mock exams for me right now is the trickiness of a lot of questions, and my tendency to answer before reading/thinking it through enough, not the actual concepts.

Hopefully I'll be posting on Friday to announce that I passed. *crosses his fingers*

I didn't take it. I'm planning on taking it probably end of this month or early June. I got so swamped with work and other things at home that studying for it was nearly impossible, so something had to give, and that was technically the least important thing. I'll try to update the thread once I do take it.
