RAQ 550 EMail

My Raq 550 has an email glitch every now and then the server will continue to accept incoming mail but clients can't access through POP to check their mail. It won't restart with the Admin GUI, I try to SSH in and use the /etc/rc.d/init.d/inet restart/ command but it won't restart the email services either. I found a tech company online (Rackaid) that can't seem to fix why the server is doing this, but they can restart the email services for me through SSH. The problem is, I have to pay them $130 everytime they restart email. Can you tell me the command they're using to restart POP and IMAP services on my RAQ?

Thank's,

Sam White

The commands you are looking for are:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/inet stop

/etc/rc.d/init.d/dbrecover start

(Wait for this to finish)

then I usually use

killall in.qpopper- this clears out the dead pop3 requests that have queued

Then /etc/rc.d/init.d/inet start

The dbrecover command checks and repairs the pamd authentication database that your POP3 system uses to log on.
