HP Compaq nw9440
Hi,
I've downloaded and burned the DVD installation of Solaris 10. However, on boot, the DVD doesn't recognize the ISO.
I have verified that the computer is accessing the CD/DVD on startup by putting in a SUSE CD that was burned for me. It launched.
Does anyone have any clues as to why the computer is not recognizing Solaris?
Thanks,

Well, I was able to create the proper DVD boot by burning an image... Now I run into the same problem that many have had, specifically the installation stalling when "disk not found, check cable..."I am trying to do the install on a HP Compaq 9440 laptop...Any ideas?

I suspect that the device driver for your disk does not exist. I suggest running: http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/device_detect.htmlTo see if your system is completely supported.Note that OpenSolaris release has more drivers for disks, network and wifi than Solaris 10.

You are absolutely right. I will browse OpenSolaris to see if I can find these drivers there. If anyone out there can point me in the right direct, it would be surely appreciated! Thanks.
