Problems installing Solaris 8 2/04
I installed Solaris 8 2/04 in a Sun Fire V120 (UltraSPARC-IIe 648MHz), the installation finished but when server restarted it displayed this:
"loadkeys: Cannot find /usr/lib/ld.so.1
Killed
kbd: Cannot find /usr/lib/ld.so.1
Killed
cfsfstype: Cannot find /usr/lib/ld.so.1
WARNING: /proc could not be mounted
expr: Cannot find /usr/lib/ld.so.1
/sbin/swapadd: swap: not found
WARNING - /usr/sbin/fsck not found. Most likely the
mount of /usr failed or the /usr filesystem is badly
damaged. The system is being halted. Either reinstall
the system or boot with the -b option in an attempt
to recover."
i tried with boot -b but it did not solve the problem, when i tried to start the server normally it could not, I can oly enter to server in maintenance mode, and the sysem could not found a lot of files (like /usr/sbin) and commands (like ls, boot, init).
I found at the start of the installation this display
"WARNING: /pci@1f,0/pci@1/scsi@8/sd@0,0 (sd0):
Error for Command: write(10)Error Level: Informational
Requested Block: 142093520Error Block: 142093520
Vendor: COMPAQSerial Number: 3KT2R4Y3
Sense Key: Soft Error
ASC: 0x5d (<vendor unique code 0x5d>), ASCQ: 0x10, FRU: 0x10"
i do not know if is a hard drive problem. Please help me because i tried three times the installation but the problem still exists

Since this is a fresh installation, you might consider starting it all over again.
You may have made some initial selections while prompted at the beginning of the install process, that accidentally omitted essential system files.
As for that device path and the disk? It's pointing to an external non-Sun peripheral that's connected to the rear external SCSI port. That drive has some bad sectors. ( I wouldn't trust a new OS on those sectors until you fixed them.)
The errors are not calling out either of the two possible internal drives.
Infodoc 21216 lists a few default system device paths, and ...Sun Fire [TM]v120 / Netra[TM] 120
PCI slot 0/pci@1f,0/pci@1/<device>@1,*33mhz-32bit-5V
disk 1/pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/scsi@8/sd@0,0
disk 2/pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/scsi@8/sd@1,0
External SCSI Port/pci@1f,0/pci@1/scsi@8,1/<device>
CDROM/pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@d/sd@0,0

My bad.
I read your info too quickly.
/pci@1f,0/pci@1/scsi@8/sd@0,0
is indeed the first disk drive in that platform
I got distracted by the fact that you don't happen to have a Sun disk drive in that slot.
You may still benefit from starting all over again and installing the OS from the beginning.
If the questionable sectors corrupted the initial install,
that might explain why you cannot get to various folders and find essential files.
