solaris 9 raid setup(with an installation of firewall on the primary disk

hi,

the aim is to install another drive and make it a backup/resilience to the current drive which is already running check point firewall.

i have tried the following command

raidctl -c c0t0d0 c0t1d0

and get the following error:

device does not support requested action

drive has been check to make sure it is detected (c0t1d0)

wanted to check if successfully executed what will happen (erasure of data, etc)

thanks

raidctl only works if you have hardware raid controller in yr box , currently only V440 box have raid controller as far i know ,

you can use Solaris volume manager for mirroring the rootdisk, also check checkpoint documentation as well

what yr server platform/model ?
