Using IPMP with virtual interfaces
Hi,
I have a V210 that currently uses one physical interface (bge0) and another 5 virtual interfaces (bge0:1 - beg0:5) for a variety of web servers. I'm now looking to deploy IPMP to give the server a degree of resilience.
Looking at a few articles on Sun's and some other websites, I can see that it's relatively straight forward to set a pair of physical interfaces with a single address moving between the two of them in the event of a failure. Given that I have 5 virtual interfaces as well, is it possible to configure IPMP to have the two physical interfaces with an address each and then the six other IP addresses to change between the two interface in the event of a failure (a total of 8 IP addresses: 2 physical and 6 logical)? Or do I have to create a pair of addresses for the physical and each virtual interface, and create a separate IPMP group for each interface pair (6 addresses for bge0 - bge0:5, 6 addresses for bge1 - bge1:5, and 6 logical addresses)?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
Iain
