Solaris DVD-RW Lock

Hi all,

I am trying to install Solaris on my computer. I boot from the DVD and the setup starts. I give it all the options, and then when it comes to read from DVD, it says that I don't have any CD in the DVD-RW !!! (it booted from it! how can it disappear?) also another thing i noticed is that the DVD-RW is non responsive at the time of the cd checking! It doesn't eject, it does turn on the light... when I reset my computer the dvd works perfectly... it boot solaris... i give it settings... and bang.. dvd stops functioing...

Could Solaris deactivate the Drive or somthing?

Anyone met this problem?

Thanks :)

Can u elaborate what you mean by "get it setting". Did you burn the DVD image or the CD image. The kernel does a size check and to figure out if it's booting from a CD or a DVD and if things mismatch that might cause a problem.

..sorry, I meant "what do you mean by providing all the options". And also regarding the image, to clarify, did you download just 1 or 5 CD images or did you get the DVD image which expands to roughtly 2.8 GB.
