SVM mirroring for veritas rootdg slice

I'm not sure this is possble?

we have a system solaris 9, veritas VXVM 3.5 the veritas rootdg is on

a slice 6 of the boot disk . the disk layout is like these

* FirstSectorLast

* Partition Tag FlagsSectorCountSector Mount Directory

020062246592 19660032 81906623/

1301 0 16393536 16393535

2500 0 143349312 143349311

3700 112627968 30721344 143349311/var

400081906624 30721344 112627967/opt

600016393536264576 16658111

so /, /var, and /opt are under SVM controlled and are mirrored.

it is possible to mirror slice 6 with SVM , that contain the veritas rootdg?

thanks.

No, you shouldn't. VxVM (and SVM) private regions contain specific identifying information that shouldn't be duplicated. Don't mirror SVM regions outside of SVM, don't mirror VxVM regions outside of VxVM (at least not without understanding what you're getting yourself into).

If you want to duplicate the rootdg slice, do it with VxVM. Create a similar slice on the other disk, then add that slice to the rootdg just like you did the first one.
