Solaris 10 X 86 install hungs

After selecting language (0=English),, CD boot tries to install Solaris 10 I then get this error "No disk found" error eventhough the CD is in there.. please help

I guess the error message u r getting is in regards to your Hard Drive. Did u run any of the folloing? 'coz it would be very helpful to run hardware compatibility test:

(1)Device Detection: http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/device_detect.html

(2) Installation Check Tool: http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/install_check.html

Hi

I had a very similar issue when installing solaris 10 onto an HP DL585 machine.

We had to go back to basics and check we were using a dvd drive not a cd drive

then obtain all the correct device drivers and BIOS settings to enable the machine to boot from the dvd as the machine couldnt see the boot disk.

You may also want to use th GRUB loader program

Once its installed solaris 10 works on x86 very well.
