Redundant IP between two Solaris 10 servers

Hi

Till now we use switch base solution to implement redundant IP between two servers.

I understand Solaris 10 allow us to do it with out special feature in the switch.

I do not look for a complex cluster like solution, rather for the simplest way to expose one external IP.

I would appreciate if someone can direct me to the relevant information.

Thanks

Tzach

The only way of doing this as far as I know is Sun Cluster.

Or possibly a load balancer?alan

Thanks for the answers.

Load balancer is a valid option; naturally we will need two for redundancy.

I believe there is a solution using a special 3rd party Ethernet cards. Is anyone familiar with it?

Maybe a 3rd party software package like HA Linux Heartbeat can be used?

Any idea is welcome. Thanks.

I assume Heartbeat would work, but you mentioned not wanting a complex cluster solution. A heartbeat communication is one of the core components of any cluster.Sun Cluster would be just as valid.-- Darren
