x4100 power management

hello, I just start to using x4100 servers.

and I have a question about this hardware.

Once I put on two AC cables to servers, than servers will power on

automatically.

so I wondering that how to setup this servers to power on by

power button.

Do I need to change some parameters at BIOS configuration?

When the server powers up, you'll see a SUN logo screen. Press F2 on the keyboard until you get the BIOS screen. Then change the setting for powering up after power fail to "stay off". The default is to power up.

Review the system's documentation.

There's an easy link to all that knowledge from the X4100's resource page

in the Sun System Handbook.

http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/SunFireX4100/SunFireX4100.html

See the "Related Documentation" link on that page.

In particular, look through the X4100's Service Manual ( document # 819-1157 ).

You can freely download it in PDF format, from that documentation link.

Here's a thought...get the Service Manual and give a copy to the end user as well.

I don't know the exact section, but it should be under "Advanced Configuration" if my fuzzy memory is correct.
