Sun Fire V445 switching from ALOM to System Console

Hello,

Anybody has any idea how can i switch from ALOM to system console.

when i dobreak then

sc> break

Break can't happen due to the system power is off.

sc> console

Enter #. to return to ALOM.

sc> poweron

then system boots up to the operating system then i try to do the following

# exit

Root console password (control-d to bypass):

which i don't know whats the password of this.

Actually i want to go to OK prompt to run the Solaris OS 9 installation but some reason system is not allowing me to do that. Is possible that i can run installation on the following prompt.

#

Let me know.

Thanks

Adeel

With the machine booted you can press "STOP-A" and it'll break to the OBP prompt. Then at the OK prompt you can "boot cdrom" or whatever you need to do.

Oh, I was assuming this was a SPARC system... Was thinking it said "v440"... Ummm, what's a v445?
