Problems with Installation of Java

I have successfully downloaded and installed but the below I explains what my problem is.

During the process of installing, it gets to the point where you are asked either to accept the license or not. However the license is written in German and I am wondering why that happens. Anyway I continue to install. Upon completion it works but then if I click on the Java Icon in control panel I find that everything is German.

Can anyone advise me as to the reason why that happens and by that I mean why do I get the license agreement in German and not in English as I thought would be the case as anything preceding that process was in English.

Somewhat confused. Have been trying for quite some time but on each occasion the same result transpires.

Your advice as to a possible solution appreciated.

Either your time zone/locale is set to German or you downloaded a German version.

Hi

Yr response noted. However due to lack of PC knowledge can you please instruct me how to achieve changing the time zone/locale to English.

As to whether I downloaded the German version is somewhat confusing because as stated, only when I begin the installation after downloading and it gets to the license acceptance, is there anything to

do with the German language.

Awaiting your favourable response

Click on

Start --> Control Panel --> This opens a window with many things related to system settings

Now Click on Regional and Language Options This opens a new window then

in this if the Regional options Tab is not English (United States) Then change it to English and also the same in Advanced Tab also see that Code Page Conversion Tables list does have a check of languages such as chinese , Japanese, or so... If it is defualted to normal things which are not language specific to toher countries then it is ok else remove them and click on Ok to set the things and restart the system which will set you laguage to english....

Hi Guys

After attempts was able to install with license page being displayed in English. H/ever since then I have had a bit of a problem trying to run Secunia Software Inspector which requires the use of Java, The problems which I am experiencing are as follows:

When the program starts I receive the following

quote

Java(TM) Plug-in Fail Error

Several Java Machines Running in the same process caused an error

Your Systm does not appear to have sun java installed. Sun Java is required for the Secunia Software Inspector to work. You should consider downloading the latest version of Sun Java from http://www.java.com/ before continuing.

Eventually the program closes resulting the following message appearing on desktop

quote

ieplore.exe application error, the instruction at 0x2e746e65 referenced at 0x2e746e65. The memory could not be read.

The bottom line is that I have Mozilla Firefox browser installed and when I run the program using this browser there is absolutely no problem. Runs like a dream. Because of this factor I am wondering why there is so much problem running it using IE

Any help appreciated.

Do you have QuickTime installed on your machine ?

If so, remove the QTime.zip entry from your path environment variable.

Take a look at JDK_DIRECTORY/jre/lib/ext/ to see if QTime.zip is there then remove it. (where JDK_DIRECTORY is the jdk installation directory)

Hope That Helps
