Regarding Search Glow

Hello there. First I am having problems with my pc and I am trying to get them worked out. Now I am running XP pro SP2. Heres the deal recently I got nailed with something and I have it back about 80%. I am running IE7 and now when, after I can even get it to load, I attempt to close my browser I occasionaly get one of the wonderful messages.

I have no idea what happend but I think I got nailed by some email attachments I was waiting for, but they came from a pc I did not know. Then whammo big time a few days later. First my adobe files section was opening on startup and seeing the folders. Ok then I did a scan at with my AVG and nada. Adwar nada. Spybot S&D nada. Trendmicro bingo. I do not remeber what the issues was but it was a W32 and a Trogan but it showed the file infected was something like Javaruntime something.

I went in and manually cleaned out my Java, and no I do not play games either, but I know some of MS and other things use portions of Java tech to run stuff, so after cleaning out I download a new version with current ifany updates. Now I know my pc isn't fixed yet but heres the deal.

I occasionaly get this messae Search Glow is not responding.

Now of course the options are end now or return to windows to check the status. I know the status, my net wouldn't close. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Thank you

>I went in and manually cleaned out my Java,

unistall java using controll panel and not by removing it manually !!

once, unistalled, download and re-install a jdk from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp

See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/install.html for install. and configuration

You should always have an antivirus (avast for example) AND a firewall (zone alarm for example) installed on your pc

BTW, do you hav quicktime installed on your machine ?

If so, post the path system variable plz
