How to Create User to Access Portal

Dear All,

Please bear with my silly question below as I am a newbie to this environment.

I have installed the portal in XP environment. And I have set the document root to point to the sample "Portal" folder included in the installation.

But whenever I try to access the url http://localhost , its prompting for a login authentication. I tried to enter in the admin ID that I created during the installation but it doesnt recognizes.

Finally, under the Admin console, I managed to find a Access Control List menu but I am really confused on how to add in a new user. I tried to add in by specifying a text file that contains the user login but I think I have made some mistakes in the syntax.

Will certainly appreciate it greatly if someone here can help me. Thank you in advance.

Confused and really desperate for help,

Easwary

Hai, I tried accessing the Access Manager (amconsole) but then I am receiving a page error "Page Cannot be displayed"Is there any configurations/settings that I have to change? I installed the portal using the default settings. Easwary

I cannot access /amconsole and /portal. There was a server error:

>Server Error

>This server has encountered an internal error which prevents it from fulfilling >your request. The most likely cause is a misconfiguration. Please ask the >administrator to look for messages in the server's error log.

I can access /psconsole only, but I can login with amAdmin.

I installed Portal Server 7.1 on Windows Server 2003 SP1.

What does the logfiles say? (Webserver, Access Manager, Portal). Any exceptions?
