Urgent --Assigning Channels to a Role in Sun Access Manager
Hi,
I have created a role and want to assign a channel to the role.Please let me know how I can proceed.(Portal 7.1). When I click on the "Desktop" service under the role I get "There is no information to display for this service.".It doesnt ask me for creating a template....why?
Actually in Portal 6 ,I was doing the same stuff using a template to create a desktop profile but in portal7 it doesnt ask for adding a new template so that I can write my XML for assigning the channel.
Please help.!!

In Portal 7.1, You need to just add the Desktop service from the Access Manager console. There wont be any template. So to set your desktop, you have to login to portalserver console ie http://machine:<port>/psconsole
1. Login to psconsole with your amadmin/am password
2. click on portal tab -> click on the portal (name : portal1 by default, it might be diff in your install)
3. Click on the Add DNs button and select "role" or filtered role depending on whether your role is static or filtered role. Then select the role and click ok
4. Now select that Role from "select DN" listbox and change the ParentContainer(JSPTabContainer) and Desktop Type(developer_sample) and click on save button.
5. After this, click on "manage Containers and Channels and then you can add the corresponding channel to whichever tab you want using "New Channel or Container" link
