cool tuner - ndd settings solaris 10 update 3 (11/06)

All,

T2000

just installed cool tuner. (COOLTUNER_VERSION=1.0.4)

During install, I picked the option to not automatically download/apply patches

patchpro.futurepatches=n

I want to see patch information before it is applied. Is

cootuner.ksh preview

the way to do it ? - does it give the info on the console ?

I see changes in /etc/system

set ip:ip_squeue_fanout=1

set pcie:pcie_aer_ce_mask=0x1

Are these the only two that apply for solaris 11/06 ?

For the tcp settings, how do I find out what ndd changes the system will be making (or has made)

There is no file in directory rerun_on_reboot

docs within the build only contain information on solaris update 1 and 2 and have several ndd settings for solaris 10 update 2, but nothing on update 3

thanks

sundeep

Hi Sundeep,

If you run "cooltuner.ksh preview", any changes that CoolTuner proposes to make will be reported in the /opt/cooltuner/logs/preview.log file. You can then activate CoolTuner by running "/opt/cooltuner/cooltuner.ksh on".

The number of changes in Solaris 10 Update 3 are significantly reduced, because the e1000g network driver does not require either ndd changes or /etc/system entries (unlike the previous ipge driver). So there won't be anything in rerun_on_reboot.Also, S10U3 already includes most of the required patches.

Hope this helps,

Allan
