looking for explained java projects

Hello. I'm learning Java and would like to know if there is some project or application that is very well explained or documented (I mean focused for beginners to teach java).I have found several examples but all of them are very small applications. Thanks.

Yes, I have seen it. About one year ago i was looking for information about Java and found a website containing explained Java applications (I remember it had something with NASA to do). It was a great site because it has a lot of information about the development process (everything is very well documented). Unfortunately I lost (and forgot) the website adress, and that is what I'm looking for now. Does somebody know where could I find this site?.
