Rule Processing Engine ( example Versata)

Does anyone knows about Rule Processing Engine? In my project I need to work on Versata (www.versata.com) which is a Business Rule Processing engine.

What are the different rule processing engine available in market? Is there any way to compare them?

Where to get more details about Rule Processing engine apart from its own website?

I will really appreciate if anyone who share his/her view on above question
