I confess: I use vim too a lot but I never use those silly arrow keys and

I always devotedly press the <escape> key to get back to command mode.

Defenestrate me now; I don't deserve any better; goodbye cruel world.

kind regards,

Jos ;-)

what's to crow about? vi is cool. vi got me my first job after I graduated. the guy who interviewed me, his notepad had the word "vi" circled on it, and nothing else. they asked if I had any unix experience, and I told them I wasn't afraid to fire up vi if need be. sold. so thanks for everything, vi

Hey, that's how I got my first programming job, too! Except I peeked at the interviewer's pad and "Lunch: shawarma" was circled.

You see Sabre, that is the problem with you guys(I mean the english man), you people can`t apreciate beauty when it is stick right in front of you snub face! Think of all those mouse impaired systems, and those poor computers with tiny ram amounts, all of them are just fine with the good old vi!

That's like trying to argue a horse is better in places where gas is not plentiful. Sure but if I had the choice i'm taking the car. I've used VI, and can see the power of it but given the choice i'll use eclipse or textpad or notepad. I can write a bit in vi but nothing super fancy.

Corollary: there are not many civilized folks all over the world. *ahem*

Hahaha! Look out of front window to the right: ha! a Shoarma (sic) place,

and a Greek restaurant, an Italian restaurant (not just those silly pizzas)

and a decent French kitchen restaurant. I am happy and civilized!

kind regards,

Jos ;-)

What is an window? Is there outside? hehehehe.

Mine is cramped with other buildings, I know that there is some restaurants down there because every night I try to use my car I get jammed in the traffic due to all that pesky people trying to eat and estabilish some sort of silly real life.

BTW the aforementioned "food" is called "greek barbecue" around here and it is really really bad(I was told, as I am vegetarian) but it seems that everyone secretely likes it and go out to eat it once in a while.

> OT^2: What's outside your window?A hallway. Across the hall from my window are the windows of other people's offices. If I go out of my office there's a window overlooking the parking lot and on the other side of that there is another warehouse-like building.

Years ago in something like Computer Language or Software Developement or perhaps something else they had a piece comparing developers and their editors with the way ducks/geese imprint on their parents when they are hatched.
