Partitions and Mounts

Hi all- Just got a new sun server and need some help. The OS is pre-configured with the following:

Filesystem sizeused avail capacity Mounted on

/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s011G4.6G5.9G45%/

/devices0K0K0K0%/devices

ctfs 0K0K0K0%/system/contract

proc 0K0K0K0%/proc

mnttab0K0K0K0%/etc/mnttab

swap6.9G1.0M6.9G1%/etc/svc/volatile

objfs0K0K0K0%/system/object

fd0K0K0K0%/dev/fd

/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s55.8G1.1G4.6G20%/var

swap6.9G0K6.9G0%/tmp

swap6.9G64K6.9G1%/var/run

/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s749G50M49G1%/space

I like to elemenate some of the above. for example I want the "/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s7" space moved under "/" and remove "/space".

How can I do this? I found a the below article on how to moving partitions, but nothing about re-reallocation of the space.

Any ideas?

Thank You.

What a lame forum system and lame community support.

Unfortunately, its not possible to do what your asking without reinstalling the box from scratch. While solaris has some support for expanding volumes, it can't be done to the root partition.
