Unable to handle format

Hey guys n gals,

I checked the forum and there are lots of people asking questions about this topic but no answers.

Anyway i created a new player in a program i wrote and im trying to play a .avi file, when i do i get the following error?

Unable to handle format : MJPG, 320x240, FrameRate=20.0, Length=230400 0 extra bytes

Do i have to preform a conversion on the .avi file before it will play or something?

Anyway answers on a postcard!
