Workstations - General Discussion - Sun Blade 1000 and FibreChannel Disks

Dear All,

one of our sun Blade 1000 workstations doesn't boot. I'm not really used to sun machines. so maybe you can give me some help.

when i do scsi-probe-all it doesn't show me any disks at all. Just a DVD Drive and i guess the controllers.

Is there any way to verify that the disks are identified by the system?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

you might try to reseat the memory modules, add-in boards and re-torque the cpu.

Check if the internal cable to the DVD-drive is properly attached.

Remove the hard-disk, then re-insert the drive. Does the handle easily snap in (I had one with a wrong "cooling plate" that prevented proper insertion) ?

Review the Blade 1000 User's Guide for trouble-shooting instructions.

With a console-cable (and terminal emulation) you can view the output on the serial port A during POST if diag-switch? true.
