Workstations - General Discussion - Blade 1500 connect to vt100 - Which cable?

Hi,

Having problems getting a vt100 compatible monitor to communicate

with a blade 1500. Monitor is 25 way D type, blade is 9 way D type.

I've tried various work arounds using UTP with D type adaptors but with no luck. I understand there is a lead specifically for this setup that should work. Anyone have any ideas or the even the part number.

Regards,

Trev.

Standard 9-pin to 25-pin modem cable, with a null modem adapter in-line should work just fine.

Hi,

Got it working in the end with a rollover cable.....

wikpedia states..

Rollover cable (also known as Cisco console cable) is a type of null-modem cable that is most commonly used to connect a computer terminal to a router's console port. This cable is typically flat (and has a light blue color) to help distinguish it from other types of network cabling. It gets the name rollover because the pinouts on one end are literally rolled over when RJ45 plugs are used at both ends

Thanks for the help....
