Upgrade web server
Hello All,
I need to upgarde my webserver to SP7. i found that the patch need to install is the following: 116648-19.
I have 2 servers both of them 6.1sp5.
On one of the server i found out i have 116648-17. So i installed the new patch (-19) and all went smoothly and now im at sp7.
On the second server however, i cant find any revision of path 116648.
How is that possible? and how do i upgrade to sp7?
Below is the output from that second server:
Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Sun ONE Web Server 6.1SP3 B08/17/2004 18:33
Thanks,
Jorje

It is possible to install Web Server from packages. This is typically how Web Server is installed as part of Java Enterprise System.
It is also possible to install Web Server from its own CD or downloaded tarball. In this case, there won't be any package to patch. Instead, you can download and apply a service pack.
On Solaris, you can find out whether Web Server 6.1 was installed from packages using the pkginfo command. If no Web Server package is installed, you should see the following:# pkginfo SUNWwbsvr
ERROR: information for "SUNWwbsvr" was not found
