flash update
HI There,
I am trying to apply the flash update #106121-18 to an Ultra 1 Enterprise, which is currently at OBP version 3.25.0.
When i run the flash update, i get the message:
**ERROR - There were no binary modules found. You may have loaded the wrong flash update files for this system, which has the root "model" property SUNW,501-3082.
I have followed the instructions within the Patch, and get the initial text of the upgrade:
Standalone Flash PROM Update Utility, Rev 2.5
and it lists Ultra 1 as a target, but i just cannot get it to run the update fully.
Any ideas?

Wrong patch.
Wrong model designation.
Patch 106121 is the OBP flash-update patch for Ultra 5 and Ultra 10 systems.

Systemboard 501-3082 is used in "non-E" Ultra 1 workstations.
(Not an Ultra-1 Enterprise workstation.)

Examine the rear of the chassis...
HD50 Single-Ended SCSI and 10base-T only.
The systemboard has three SBUS expansion slots.
You would need to use OBP patch 104881:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-21-104881-09-1&search clause=104881
If you had an Ultra-1E workstation, your rear connectors would include
HD68 SCSI and a 10/100base-T port.
The systemboard would have a UPA graphics slot and two SBUS expansion slots.
The OBP patch for those systems is 104288

Lastly, for the Ultra-1 systems, you'll need to move the jumper on J2003
to write-enable the systemboard.Default position 1-2 is write protected.
Position 2-3 is write-enabled.

.. how about the Duke Stars ?You offered them with your post............I believe I provided enough guidance to get you a successful patch result, including the common "gotcha" of the jumper on the systemboard. If not, what did I overlook?
