Sun Management Center - Sun Fire V125 - SunMC 3.5.1

Hello,

I have problems integrating a SunMC 3.5.1 agent on a new V125 server into the managemnt console.

1) The server itself is not recognized - means I have a folder symbol instead of server symbol

2) I cannot see any module loaded in the console only the high level entry point like "local application", "hardware" etc...

Is there a way to workaround this other then to update to SunMC 3.6V5?

Thank you

Reinhard

This sounds like the classic blue folder problem which I have not seen for a while. But then again, you are using version 3.5.1 so to fix this please refer to the following FAQ entry:

Hi Bobby,

thx for the link - this solves the issue of not being showing the correct root icon but unfortunately there is still a problem with the module instances and attributes. This is still not displayed.

Do you know whether it is possible to install a SunMC server 3.6 and still monitor 3.5 agents?

Thank you

Reinhard

Hi Reinhard,

Glad to hear the problem was somewhat resolved. I am not sure I understand what you mean by the module instances and attributes? Is the Module Manager tab not appearing? What is the problem exactly?

Do you know whether it is possible to install a SunMC server 3.6 and still monitor 3.5 agents?

Yes, it is possible.
