Sun blade 2000 and Dell powervault 660F

Hello allWould I be able to drive a Dell powervault 660F fiber channel array with my Sun blade 2000 in build fiber channel port?

Probably not.

If I recall correctly, the external FCAL connector that is on the rear

of Sunblade 1000, Sunblade 2000, Sunfire V480, and Sunfire V490 systems

was intended for use with a particular Sun Storedge FCAL Multipak.

I don't think the external port worked with much of anything else.

If you glance inside Appendix B of the SB1000/2000 Service Manual

you'll see that there are no fiber optics there.It's a copper port, driven by a FCAL chipset.

Actually, the Dell PowerVault 660F uses a copper FC/AL interface.

I have also been looking for a FC/AL array to attach to a Blade 2000.

w.r.t. the Dell Powervaults:

SCSI Fibre Channel Cable (Copper-HSSDC - DB9)[/url] to connect to the Blade 2000.

What I am not sure about if you need a Solaris driver for the RAID controller (like you needed Raid Manager 6 for the Sun StorEDGE A1000)

I guess the 224F has more chance of working with Solaris without needing a special driver.
