Jumbo Frames and VLANs on private interconnect

I have two questions regarding the cluster interconnect:

1. Is it required to enable Jumbo Frames on the interconnect, even if you aren't using them on the public?

2. If you are using the same transport junctions/switches between 4 separate clusters, should each cluster have it's own separate VLANs, or can all 4 clusters share the same two VLANS?
