Customizing the JumpStart Boot Image for Solaris 10

Hello,

I'm trying to implement the method of John Howard's paper "Customizing the JumpStart Boot Image for Recovery" written in 2001in order to add our restore software in the boot image. While this perfectly works with Solaris up to version 9, the SMF approach in S10 changed this radically.

Does this blueprint exist for S10 ? Has someone any idea of where to start ?

Best regards,

Fred. Oger

Another enquiring mind has the same question.

Where do I start? My goal is to create a vmware appliance machine for jumpstarting.

- Oh My -

You just have to THINK about things on these forums, and the nice folks at BigAdmin have already done them.

Here is the Solaris 10 JumpStart document.

Thanks, BA.
