disk capacity is too large for current cdb length

Greetings,

I have an SunFire 280R running solaris 10 update 11/06, to this system is attached an eonstor disk array (24 * 750 GB ) disk drives, but when booting the system i get the error

"disk capacity is too large for current cdb length" which shocks as i would expect that a modern operating sytem would be able to handle a ~14TB disk.

Anyone that can help me here, if further input is needed please tell me what is needed
