Hello,
according to the [url=http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/SunFireV245/SunFireV245.html] Sun System Handbook [/url] the Minimum Supported Solaris Operating Environment Versions is Solaris 9 9/05.
Earlier releases lack the proper kernel for these systems.
You can easily verify by booting with a CD of an earlier release. It asks to enter the path to the non-existent kernel file ...
