Here is the official policy on OpenSolaris from Product Management:

"The product works on OpenSolaris today, but the OpenSolaris platform is a community project and you can't buy professional support for it.

If you want a supported Solaris, Solaris 10 is the one for you.

Similarly, if you want a supported SGD, deploy on one of our supported platforms list."

So in other words, give OpenSolaris a go, but if you find a bug in SGD running on OpenSolaris, you will need to reproduce it on one of the supported OSes before reporting it to Sun.

FYI - the next version of SGD will be dropping support for RHEL 3.
