problem with installation

I am having prob with the installation on my pc.

I downloaded Java SE 1.6 and installed it. But some reasons I had to delet

them. Now I wanna download and install again but the problem is, I can't

uninstall the previous one!

I tried through add/remove programe but shows can't remove for some erorr.

Then I tried to install it agian but some file can't be found. I also tried to

download Java kit again but windows can't install it as the system has this

software already installed.

So situation is I can't install java kit again unless I remove previous one.

But I can't remove previous one.

Which operating system are you using?

Try to reinstall the JDK6 exactly in the same location you installed it previously (if you specified an installation folder, specify it again, otherwise leave the defaults. This should go fine. Once that is installed, to have things clean, uninstall the JDK using the Control Panel (if you are using Windows) and not deleting things manually! Then re-install the JDK from the bundle.

If this doesn't work, then install the JDK in another location (change the folder in the installation wizard). This should definitely work. The result is that you'll then have the old location as dirty, so you can remove the files manually.

Thanks a lot for ur reply.

Unfortunately, I can't really get that option. When I click to install, it starts and then shows "The software has already been installed on your computer. Would you like to reinstall?"

If I choose "yes", then again installation starts and with in 10 second the same thing appears. If I click "yes" again, same thing happens and so on.

So I can't get the option to change the location. Also I can't remove or reinstall through the add/remove programes.

I am using windows XP.
