Mobil phone menues

Hi,

I'm very new to the java language, but has spend many years working with html, javascript and php. Now it's time to make the transission into java :)

While I'm trying to get some of the basics down I would like to ask if it is possible to modify the standard menus on yourmobil phone ? For instance when you recieve a SMS you can choose to do different things with it, delete, reply and so on. Is it possible to add features to these menues, that executes home made applications ?

Regards Johan

I'd imagine it was possible if you entirely replaced the firmware, but that's a bit out of the realms of possibility if you're just starting out (unless you have the source code somehow).

True, that would be 'a bit' too much at the present :)..okay, thanks for your reply, I'm just looking into how I might implement my future applications. If for instance I create some application in connection with SMS messages, it would be nice too access that application through the 'standard' menu used when reading the message. Any ideas on how to 'best' implement own applications, now that the mentioned menu is not an option ?
