How to add osmonitor to servers

Hi all,

I have a bunch of galaxy servers installed with our jumpstart server. I would know manage them with N1SM. I can discover those server without any problem but can't enable the osmonitoring. Trying adding this feature always end up with :

Result 1:

Server:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Status: -3

Message: Enabling Base Management or OS Monitoring support failed. Check the Standard Output field for possible reasons for this failure.

Standard Output:

SunMC driver: getV3 failed: noError,-1

Result 2:

Server:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Status:0

Message: Failed to enable OS Monitoring support.

How can add enable it ?

Best regards,

Hi NRB,

try adding basemanagement first,

then osmonitoring and let us know outputs of jobs & dmesg (messages).

Also the account you provide must be able to exercise admin actions (install packages, modify system settings like adding user accounts,hosts,...).

IF basemanagement will install without any probs, you are seeing a problem with OS monitoring agent only, then the version of system you try to monitor is necessary, also checking for esd* processes on target might help.

What OS is installed on the target? Please be specific, as in, "RHEL 3 U5 x86_64". I'm asking because I ran into the same problem, and I may have a fix. Also, have you used any previous version of N1SM?
