Which 'admin' password?
What are you trying to accomplish with this username/password which is not working?
There are any number of administrator accounts/passwords so you will need to clarify which one you mean.
Also, do you know the directory manager bind dn/password? If so you can use ldapmodify to change the password as well as amconsole.

Shane.
Thanks, Shane, for your reply.
I am sorry for the unclear message. I want to use
./commadmin user create -D admin -F FIRSTNAME -n MYDOMAIN.com -L LASTNAME -l LOGON_ID -w ADMIN_PASSWORD -W NEW_USER_PASSWORD -d MYDOMAIN.com -S mail -E USER@MYDOMAIN.com -H MYSERVER.MYDOMAIN.com
to create an email account on MS server. The -w ADMIN_PASSWORD does not work for some weird reason (as I mentioned I did not change it). I need to reset it. The amadmin/password works fine so that I can login amconsole.
Is ADMIN_PASSWORD the DA admin password or directory manager password?
Please help me further,
Daneil
By default, Messaging Server creates an "admin" user. You can name that "admin" user whatever you like, although the default is indeed, "admin".
You may want to check the LDAP access log to see what the server is responding to, during BIND. You may have the wrong account, or somethig like that.
You can use the amadmin user/password, if you wish. It should work, too.
Hi Jay,
I broswed this forum and found it looks like a common issue -- admin password does not work suddenly for some reason even if you did not change anything when you use commadmin. But I still can logon Sun ONE Server Console using the same password. Why does this password not work with commadmin? When I tried to use commadmin, I got
Invalid value for login ID: admin
Invalid value for login password
Invalid value for login domain:
I checked the LDAP access log and found the server is responding to admin during BIND. My domain is right, thus the only trouble maker is password.
I also tried to use amadmin/password (they work with amconsole), but it does not work either. As you mentioned, it should work, too. How to make them work?
Can you please help me further, Jay?
I apprieate you very much.

Responding, how?
My domain is right,

you need to start looking more critically at the ldap logs. It's possible that you have more than one "admin" account, and that's confusing DA.
