Sun Java System Messaging Server - Current Patch Level for 2005Q4

Good Afternoon,

We are currently running iMS 5.2 Hotfix 1.16. We have a new server that we will be installing JES 2005Q4 on. We are unable to go to JES 6.3 because we are currently running Solaris 8 on this server with no plans to go to Solaris 10.

So, we are attempting to find the latest core patches for 2005Q4 for the following modules. We have found some but not all:

Directory Server 5.2 (schema 2) - Core 115614-26

Messaging Server 6.2 - Core 118207-63

UWC - ?

Web Server - ?

Calendar Server 6.2 - T-116577-41(Currently running this in iMS 5.2)

Admin Server - Core 115611-23

Delegated Administrator - ?

I have been looking on Sunsolve for a couple of days, but can't find the core patches everything. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, would be be appropriate to go to the latest stable T-patch for any of the above components. We would rather be on the latest version for testing.

Thanks in advance,

Doug

Jay,

Thanks for the response. That helps alot.

One more question if I might...What would be the proper installation/configuration order? Can we install the base, apply the patches and then configure? Or should we install the base, configure and then install the patches?

Thanks again in advance.

Hi,

One more question if I might...What would be the

proper installation/configuration order? Can we

install the base, apply the patches and then

configure? Or should we install the base, configure

and then install the patches?

The former. Get the base version installed, working, and tested - then apply the patches one-by-one. That way you can track down if any particular patch is causing the issue.

Patching UWC/Messaging Server/Calendar server once the base is installed and running is straight-forward.

Shane
