Correct configuration and profile?

Hi actually i have to develop an application with a pda, where i need to take data from the IR port, and send this data to a sql database in a server, and in the same time take data from this database. This communication is by wi-fi.

Also i need to do an interactive program to the user that keeps this process transparent.

CLDC and MIDP is the correct configuration to do this?

that not help me so much! is the same that i always read! im so confusedcldc and midp is god for my application? or cdc and personal profile is better?
