Please help really want to use JMF

I have installed JMF and I pass all the tests on the online applet but Java still isn't recognizing the JMF packages. I've already tried setting the classpath but surely if that were the problem I would fail the online applet test. I'm running a Windows XP laptop and the packages aren't recognized in NetBeans 5.5 or when running from the command prompt.

Hope someone can help as I really want to get started using JMF. 10 dukes to anyone who can help me install JMF, do people care about dukes by the way?!

Cheers,

Adam

yeah... ppl care about dukes, but it would be better if i could cash them from the nearest ATM ;-) ah well...

anyway, if you have installed JMF *before* you'd installed JDK or NetBeans, i suggest you uninstall JMF and install it back again. if you have multiple JDKs, then make sure your NetBeans is using the default one (normally the highest version).. Im saying because JBuilder, for instance, will install JDK of it's own (what the heck for?)..

which JDK r u using anyway?

I assume you have installed the JMF Windows performance pack after you have installed Java / Netbeans

if NOT then it may be a good idea to re-install JMF

If you want to run via your IDE as well as outside of it you will have two lots of checks to make

Ignoring Netbeans for now

Run JMStudio, try to play a movie file

If that works stop JMStudio

plug in your webcam

Start JMStudio up again

Use JMStudio menu File | Preferences to get to the JMF Regstry Editor

On the Capture Devices tab click Detect capture Devices

make sure that you comitt results before exiting

Now you should be able to use JMStudio menu File | Capture

to display from your WebCam

let us know if you can / can't get this working
