smpatch patch 112945-44 change LANG ?
Hello,
we applied smpatch 'patch' 112945-44 to use smpatch function.
After patch was applied, server (Solaris 9) change locale ?
(from C or Posix to also installed German de)
Any ideas ?
I like to read my system messages in english, also a lot of scripts ...
... the not work properly with german system mesages.

I have had a look at the patch and I cannot find any reference to changing the system locale.
It is likely that the locale was changed previously by a user, and then when the system was rebooted as per the patch instructions, the new locale would have been picked up.
To answer your question directly, a patch contains scripts, which could effectively do anything that you as an operator could do when run as root.
You have su powers, use them wisely.
