USB audio on Solaris fails with: couldn't set record gain

Trying to get the Griffin iMIC usb audio to work on Solaris8. This works fine with Solaris 10 but no option at the moment.

When attaching device in Solaris8 the following errors occur (dmesg output):

WARNING: usb_ac0:am_attach() couldn't set record gain

usba: [ID 593373 kern.info] /pci@1e,600000/usb@a/device@1/sound-control@0 (usb_ac0): am_attach failed

WARNING: /pci@1e,600000/usb@a/device@1/sound-control@0 (usb_ac0): failure to plumb audio streams drivers

SunBlade 1500 running Solaris 8 with latest Recommended patches. Tried on Solaris9 as well with same result.

According to Sun the iMIC is Verified on Solaris8, 9 and 10.
