Optimum Solaris Version for Ultra 10

Hi guys

I need a little advice. I bought a Sun Ultra 10 a little over a year ago and used it for a college project. I ran Solaris 10 on but I found it a bit sluggish.

As we all know the Ultra 10 isn't the newest piece of hardware and a few releases of Solaris have passed since its birth.

So my question is what version of Solaris would be best to run on it to get good performance from this box? I intend to run mainly basic server/networking applications and not really any productivity, multimedia or development stuff.

Box basic specs are 333MHz and 256MB RAM.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Solaris 8 or 9 will work just fine.. you might consider maxing the ram out to 1 gig.. and you can swap out the cpu for a 440mhz...

I am glad you don't want the U10 for multimedia, cuz it ain't possible...

oh yes, you might drop in a scsi card (375-0005) and put some decent 10K drives in it... too bad 68 pin drives are so darn expensive...
