Version 1.4 is older than version 5.0, and will be therefor obsolete sooner. Is it not obvious that you should go for the most current?

Disregard the prerequisite time frame, obviously to me that was arbitrarily contrived by one person creating the prerequisite for the 1.4 version, versus another person writing the 5.0 version and those two people have a different view of what the prerequisite should mean. I'd be sure if the same person wrote the requirement for both, the requirement would have been the same for both.
