sendmail

guys

i have an issue with sendmail, which is working fine but i have an old mail that seems to be logging in syslog and delaying for 5 days at a time.

the queue's seem to be empty and there is no dead letter in /var/tmp

but the syslog contains a lot of errors about this.

has anyone got any ideas about clearing this old mail, i have tried stopping and restarting

error below.

Ok, I give up. It's trying to send to relay through the loopback address to some address named postmaster. It isn't trying to deliver the mail otherwise the mailer should be something like local.

So can the loopback address relay postmaster to wherever? Why isn't postmaster fully qualified? postmaster@somedomain.someTLD

This message and why it wasn't delivered should be somewhere in your queue directories.
