Single user mode without password ?

Is it possible to go into single user mode without having to enter a password ? I mean can the password be provided in the command ?either the init , shutdown or reboot commands?

No. The closest equivalent is edit the shadow file andcomment out the root entry. Then put in a dummy entry with no password.robert.cohena at 2007-7-9 21:57:07 >
