Download Error - Maximum Retries

I downloaded a patch for SO -- forgot to use the download manager. Of course, the file is corrupt. So, I tried to do it again using the manager and I get the max. retry error. Can this be reset so I can download the patch? I tried turning off automatic verification. Still get retry error. Thanks.

Delete the patch, try again in a couple days.I've had the same issue and it seemed to be a problem on Sun's side. Just trying again at a later date was the solution.

See my thread in "Installation and Integration" forum.

Thread "SO8 (Windows) Update 4 download ".

On dialup here, so I'm kinda screwed.

Been trying to DL for a couple months now w/o success.

Don't think patch download will work with download mgr.s. due to authentication issues (at least I could not get them to work).

Could not download with Sun Download Mgr either for some strange reason.

(Don't understand why patch file size is larger than program install file?!)

Gotta have someone w/ cable/dsl to DL for me.

Thanks very much. Your suggestion to wait, worked... I got the patch, but now it's time to purchase and I elected to buy the CD. Should I remove the downloaded files before loading the CD or let it overwrite?

I don't think you need to do either of the above. If you already have the current software installed, there's no need to load anything from the CD? Is the current version complaining about being a trial version?

The trial version expires soon. So, I assume I need to purchase a license key or buy the software. Is that not the case? The retail CD was cheaper than the key, so I opted to purchase it. Still waiting for the CD to arrive, however, so I can change my plan? Thanks...

That said... I can live with nag screens, if that's what I can expect.
