crs_stop ora.hostname.gsd on one node, the gsd on the other node core dump

Two nodes HA system, use command "crs_stop ora.hostname.gsd" to stop gsd on the first node, the java program executed by script gsd coredump on the second node. This problem first found when reboot first node, or executed /etc/init.d/init.crs stop/start on the first node.

I'm not clear what the configuration is here. Is this an HA Oracle system or an Oracle RAC system. It should be the latter, but you said HA not RAC.

There have been a number of bugs with Oracle 10.2.0.x and gsd. As of 10.2.0.3 our investigation is still on-going as to whether they have all been resolved. (though we are hopeful). So, you may want to make sure you have all the Oracle patches in place.

You need to log into Oracle metalink assuming you have a support contract, etc. My colleague informs me that there are already 147 patches for 10.2.0.3, so it might be an idea to try upgrading to the latest patch set and see if that cures the GSD issue. Unfortunately, I can't offer a better suggestion than that.

I also encountered this problem on T2000 server. but it is very strange that it can't reproduced on V440 server. What is the different between t2000 and v440?

From Oracle's point of view, they really shouldn't be different at all. Under the covers, you have difference CPUs, network cards, etc. However, it shouldn't matter.I would suggest you get the latest Oracle patches which are supposed to fix all these issues.Tim
