Kernel what the different. Please

Hi Guys,For the Sol Recommend Cluster patch, there is 3 kernel patchses,112233-12 SunOS 5.9: Kernel Patch117171-17 SunOS 5.9: Kernel Patch118558-39 SunOS 5.9: Kernel PatchWhat the different on the above? and why we need it 3 of them.? Regards

Well, in the beginning there was kernelpatch 112233, but after a few months it had grown so large that it was quite hard to maintain, and also it would require the customers to apply a 100+ MB patch to get a 1k update. Hence it was made obsolete in favour of 117171, which after a while was made obsolete by 118558.
So you do need all the three of them, but only one of them will ever need an update..
