Power Outage, and OMG... WOW...

Well I finally got Solaris 10 installed after doing a little looking and finding out that my graphics card was unsupported, but the onboard card was :)

I installed it, booted up, started using it - and the power went out.

Now the system is trashed, and cannot be booted.

Will the next version of Solaris use a different filesystem?

Cannot trust an OS that will corrupt my data everytime the power goes out. Hurricane season approaches.

That's very odd. Solaris is well known for NOT trashing the disk when sudden power losses occur. The current file system is very well designed. The new ZFS filesystem is even better, however you can't use that for some of the system slices (yet)...

Did they have UFS logging enabled for the trashed slices?alan

UFS Logging is enabled by default. Message comes up during boot.
